Ethics are the standards and principles that direct our actions so that we can make positive contributions. It contains discussions of the concepts of right and wrong, good and terrible, and just and unfair.
People’s actions and decisions are influenced by ethics, which also offers a framework for analyzing and resolving moral conundrums. Different ethical theories, including consequentialism, deontology, virtue ethics, and care ethics, have been produced by many philosophical and cultural traditions, each with a unique method of addressing morality-related concerns. Ethics generally tries to foster moral behavior and advance human welfare, justice, and fairness.
In addition to our personal lives, our professional and social lives all depend on ethics. Life’s ethical principles assist us in making moral choices and applying moral standards to every element of our existence.
In a sense, your basic values and everyday actions are centered around your ethics in life, which determine who you are and reveal a lot about how far you can go in life.
The outcomes will undoubtedly be greater than the finest if we follow ethical principles. Self-love and self-belief must be practiced. You achieve achievement through self-discipline, self-assurance, and self-motivation.
We must practice GOOD LISTENERSHIP. People will only pay attention when you say less, wiser, and more profoundly. Keep your wants and needs in check and don’t spend unless you have money to do so. The mother of all other virtues, patience is a wonderful quality. Knowing and learning how to live better is an art.
Following are the six ethics of life:
- Before You Pray – Believe
- Before You Speak – Listen
- Before You Spend – Earn
- Before You Write – Think
- Before You Quit – Try
- Before You Die – Live
1. Before You Pray – Belief
Worship or prayer is solely a private thing. A person’s religious views determine how what, and even how frequently he prays. Everybody prays differently.
We must recognize that everyone prays differently, despite the possibility that external factors and attitudes might have an impact on a particular behavior. But there is one thing we all have in common: When we pray, we have the strongest faith that our wishes will be granted. But is there any benefit to praying if we do not adhere to that faith or ethical system? So before you pray, you must learn to believe.
2. Before You Speak – Listen
We all do this, and as we age, our capacity for attentive listening grows. However, it only occurs when we let it to. We might infer from the Creator’s gift of two ears and a mouth that we should make an effort to listen well.
Surprisingly, though, we tend to rush in and start busy voicing our ideas rather than listening to what is being said. Many listeners choose to sit during the speaker’s speech, preventing them from even having the chance to finish it. Not at all. First, we need to pay close attention. Before speaking, the speaker should be given time to complete their entire speech.
3. Before You Spend – Earn
It alludes to persons who still depend on others for their survival and yet anticipates receiving financial support from them for all of their needs. People who toil away day and night to support themselves despise that person and their wealth. If you lack the abilities and information necessary to earn money on your own, how can you understand its genuine worth?
The consensus among experts is that you won’t be able to spend money if you don’t have any in the bank. However, other factors besides money affect spending and income. This is based on connections, respect, humility, and faith. The same reasoning that applies to making deposits and withdrawals from a bank also holds for humanity.
We need to emotionally, mentally, and intellectually imbue this world, our relationships, and our souls with good ideas, good deeds, and good words if we want to earn respect, trust, loyalty, and friendship.
4. Before You Write – Think
Our words have the power to harm others and turn them against us. In other words, you should always think before you speak. It’s crucial to open your head before you open your tongue. It could be time to think twice if you have no idea what you’re about to say or if you frequently get in trouble for not thinking.
Writers must take into account how their words could diminish other people’s dignity. You can claim that you have the right to free speech or the freedom to say whatever you want, but in this case, accountability is linked to freedom.
Some things are better left spoken or written about. So you must consider your words before speaking. Keep in mind that you cannot take back anything you have said once it has left your mouth.
5. Before You Quit – Try
It appeals to me a lot. At one point, I would just accept the rate without trying. What’s the point? might mutter a critical thought in the head. It won’t work anyhow! But how will you know until you give it a shot?
Since I work as a teacher, I talk with lots of kids about a variety of topics. I often remind my pupils, “If you don’t attempt, how will you know if you can succeed or not,” if I see one of them give up without trying, whether in life or school.
It motivates people to put forth the effort, to not give up in the face of failure, but to keep trying and making progress towards their objectives. This ethic emphasizes the value of tenacity, resolve, and resilience and contends that success frequently results from hard work and endurance rather than giving up at the first sight of hardship.
6. Before You Die – Live
The best of the life ethics I have left for the end is this. I get the most inspiration from this. Try to live your life according to all the ethical principles. If you think there is a way to live a fulfilling life that is also responsible, you ought to take it. Life can be enjoyable; there is no such thing as a dismal or terrifying life.
You can create your own life. Always was, and always will be. As a result, you can maintain your moral principles and receive happiness. Because how you live it is entirely up to you. You are free to choose what you wish to do.
